BEIJING, April 25, 2026 — NIO Inc. has officially entered a new era of global expansion at Auto China 2026. For the first time, the company is showcasing its three distinct brands—NIO, ONVO, and FIREFLY—under one roof, signaling a unified assault on every segment of the global EV market.

1. The Premium Vanguard: NIO ET9 and the Mirrorblack ES8

The flagship NIO ET9, featuring the 5nm Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chip and a full-stack 900V architecture, remains the star of the premium booth. However, the immediate news is the debut of the All-New ES8 Mirrorblack Edition, priced from RMB 456,800. This special edition underscores NIO’s commitment to “Executive Luxury” as it ramps up competition with European incumbents.

2. ONVO: Scaling the Family Market

NIO’s family-oriented brand, ONVO, launched the updated 2026 ONVO L90 earlier this week. With over 70 hardware and software upgrades, the L90 is now equipped with the “NIO World Model” driver assistance system. Since its launch, the ONVO brand has successfully lowered the entry barrier for NIO’s battery-swapping ecosystem, becoming a volume driver in the 200k-300k RMB segment.

3. FIREFLY: The Global Urban Disruptor

The big surprise of 2026 is FIREFLY, NIO’s compact sub-brand. Fresh off winning the “2026 World Urban Car Award” at the New York International Auto Show, Firefly is showcasing its upgraded 2026 EV model in Beijing.

  • Global Strategy: With the right-hand-drive (RHD) Firefly already launched in Thailand and Singapore, NIO is proving that its “Battery-as-a-Service” (BaaS) model can dominate even the small-car urban segment globally.

4. Infrastructure: The 100-Million Swap Milestone

Infrastructure remains NIO’s ultimate moat. The company recently celebrated a historic milestone: 100 million cumulative battery swaps. At Auto China 2026, NIO announced the “Silk Road Power Swap Route,” a project to complete a 1,739km battery-swap corridor from Xi’an to Dunhuang by May. This infrastructure expansion is the backbone of NIO’s export confidence, ensuring that users in Eurasia can travel with zero range anxiety.
